Visual Arts Badge Workshop on Sunday, April 11 at Worcester Art Museum

Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts is hosting a Badge Workshop on Visual Arts at the Worcester Art Museum on Junior Scouts on Sunday, April 11 from 3 to 5 p.m. Individual Scouts in grades 4 & 5 may register.
Program: Tour the museum galleries for inspiration and sketch ideas to bring back to the studio. Then pick up your paint brush and work with a museum instructor to learn about color, design, perspective and composition in your own creative work of art. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the career of an artist/art teacher during the workshop. Have fun exploring the galleries and making art in the museum's studios while working towards your Visual Arts Badge! Includes a custom tailored, 30-minute guided tour followed by a 90-minute creative studio activity.
Troops and individual Scouts may register. Troops should adhere to safety-wise rules. Individual Scouts should attend with an adult.

Registration fee is $20 per Scout.
Registration will end when 40 Scouts have registered or on March 26.

Girl Scouts Take Over the Berkshire Museum on Saturday, May 1

MAYDAY! MAYDAY! Girl Scouts Take Over the Berkshire Museum.
Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council & the Berkshire Museum are co-hosting this special program for Brownie, Junior, & Cadette Scouts on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Juliette Scouts in grades 2-8 may also register.
Program: Take part in a variety of hands-on and interactive workshops in toy making, nature exploration and artistic expression.
Brownies can earn their Around the World & Animals Try-Its.
Juniors can earn their Toy Maker & Visual Arts Badges.
Cadettes can earn a Museum Patch.
NOTE: Troops must provide one adult for every 10 Scouts.
Bring a bag lunch and beverage.
Troops and individual Scouts may register. Individual Scouts must attend with an adult.

Registration is $12 per Scout.
(Try-Its, Badges, & the Patch is NOT included in the price.)
Registration will end on April 16 or when 220 Scouts have registered.

Girl Scout Camp T-Shirt Design Contest Deadline is March 8

Girl Scout Camp T-Shirt Design Contest
GET CREATIVE! Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council needs your help to design the coolest Girl Scout Camp T-shirt EVER!
The winner’s t-shirt design will be worn by happy Girl Scout campers all summer long.
If you want to be the winning designer follow the instructions below:
* Present your design using one to three colors, make sure you show how much fun camp is! * Designs may be created on the computer or drawn by hand.
* They can be submitted on white 8 1/2 x 11 paper or via e-mail.
All designs must be received by 5 pm on Monday March 8, 2010.
Finalists will be selected and the winning design will be announced on the
Girl Scout Birthday, March 12.

 Winner will receive a fabulous gift package from the Girl Scout shop.
 The winning design will be featured in the Girl Scout shops and Camp Trading Post.
 The winning designer will be announced in our E-newsletter to 32,000 households.
 A photo and press release of the winner will be sent to their local paper.

Girl Scouts Invited To Family Fun Day at The Clark

Girl Scouts of Central & Western Massachusetts Council is Hosting a Fall Family Fun Day at The Clark for Scouts of all levls, from daisy to Ambassador at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute on Sunday, November 8 from noon to 4 p.m.
Come to Roman Holiday Family Day in celebration of the exhibition Steps Off the Beaten Path: 19th Century Photographs of Rome and its Environs. Join us for jousting, ancient Roman crafts, and discover Rome in the permanent collection.
Remember a trip with scrapbooking workshops (additional fee charged for this workshop) and learn to photograph architecture with local photographer Gillian Jones.
Admission to the galleries is free during this festive day.
No pre-registration is required. Families of Scouts are welcome to attend with their Scout in uniform.
